Set of three metal salt or pepper shakers with a wooden base, a wooden storage box with a handle, and a metal scoop on a pink speckled countertop.
A metal tube, a white electronic digital scale, and a small metallic weight are arranged on a flat surface. The scale has several buttons with labels such as ON/OFF, MODE/CAL, SET/M, UNIT, and TARE.

Grain Test are experts in hectolitre weight and are the holders of the International Standard 20 litre instrument, along with a 2nd 20 litre instrument which is used as the check for the first instrument.

By having the International Standard 20 litre instrument, Grain Test can calibrate any hectolitre weight tube to Part 2 or Part 3 of BS EN ISO 7971-2/3:2019, and can provide certification to these standards.

Below is the process chart for the determination of bulk density, along with the hectolitre weight tubes that are available.

Certified International Standard 20L Instrument

The Easi-Way Hectolitre Weight kit is a testing instrument calibrated to the British Standard, BS EN ISO 7971-3:2019 for use as a routine measuring instrument, and comprises of an engineered stainless steel measuring tube (chondrometer), electronic digital balance (battery or mains operated), falling weight, cut off slide and reference chart.

The grain is allowed to fall into the lower chamber of the chondrometer under the restriction of a falling weight, which is a standard operation at all times. The grain is weighed on the balance and the weight in grammes is converted at a glance to hectolitre weight via the calibration chart supplied.

The 1 litre hectolitre weight tube is a precision engineered stainless steel, 1 litre measuring tube (chondrometer), complete with falling weight and cut off slide. It comes with an aluminium grain pouring vessel and a wooden storage case.

The grain is allowed to fall into the lower chamber of the chondrometer under the restriction of a falling weight, which is a standard operation at all times. The grain is then weighed on a balance (not provided) and the weight in grammes is converted to hectolitre weight.

This laboratory instrument is calibrated to the British Standard BS EN ISO 7971-2:2009 for use as a secondary standard measuring instrument, or alternatively it can be calibrated as a part 3 routine measurement instrument.
