DICHLOROMETHANE SOLVENT VAPOUR MONITOR
EM-25 GAS MONITOR
Dichloromethane (also known as methylene chloride) is a powerful liquid solvent frequently used in laboratories and engineering to dissolve and extract the sticky binder (bitumen) from asphalt.
While it is a highly effective chemical for analysing road materials, its vapours can be extremely dangerous.
The EM-25 gas monitor offers a robust, easy to use, cost effective approach to providing a gas monitoring system where safety matters.
The monitors fiberglass housing is weather and corrosion resistant. It is suitable for installation where general equipment is in use. The housing door is hinged on the left side and is secured on the right with one latch. The display screen and status lights are visible through the transparent hinged cover.
KEY FEATURES
The alarm buzzer is located at the bottom of the unit and is on the left side of the power input.
The remote gas sensor is fitted to a 5m cable, that is connected to the monitor housing.
A large LCD display indicates vapour level.
The concentration of vapour is displayed in parts per million on the display.
The unit has both audible and visual alarms and when a predetermined level of gas is reached the alarm is activated. The first alarm level is set to 100 ppm, the second alarm level is set to 300 ppm, (300 ppm is the maximum indication) customizable when ordering.
The monitor incorporates two fuses; one domestic 3 amp plug head fuse, one internal circuit board mounted 1A time delay fuse.
If required, an external alarm or device can be connected to the unit to provide other warnings of alarm levels.
The monitor is very easy to operate and requires no specialist knowledge or training.
The monitor constantly checks sensor performance to ensure the reliability of readings, if a fault develops the fault light will operate to alert the user for the need for service / repair.
